Site Information

Haven

As Haven manifests at our new home at Dadford our layout has once again changed. Dadford offers both open fields and woodland for us to use and we have done our best to take advantage of its features to best serve our players and volunteers. Our nations, guilds and traders will all share the same great field which has several vehicle accessible tracks running through it. Players will be able to use our one way traffic system to drop their kit off in the IC field before parking their vehicles in the designed parking areas. The site has a few gentle slopes but is generally very accessible. It can of course get muddy in bad weather so please plan accordingly. Vehicle access to the IC field is weather dependent.

Toilets will be placed around the main IC and OC camping fields to offer the most evenly distributed access we can. Showers, alongside washing and further toilet facilities will now be available in a prebuilt block located near the entrance.

Site Access

Event Entrance: Dadford Road Campsite

52.05791336189349, -1.0302230273183204

  • The site opens to the public on Thursday at 3pm.
  • Once you leave the main road you will travel down a track approx 800m before you reach the entrance to our area where you will see our volunteers to check you in. Please follow the one way system onto the IC field if you require drive on access to the IC field or head directly to the parking area if you do not. Live-in vehicles will be directed to the live-in camping area.
  • Vehicles are to be parked in a way that allows a person to drive home even after time out each evening. We may close the gate for safety reasons but a number will be posted on the gate which you can call for access.
  • Time Out is at 3pm on Sunday, and all customer vehicles must be off site by 7pm

Water Access

  • Water points will be available via standpipes around the site that will provide safe, tested drinking water.
  • We’ve done our best to ensure good access around the site but it’s always wise to bring extra water with you.

Traders and Food

  • At MF1 2026 our Larp Traders will be in the IC field near our guilds and town centre area if you’re looking for costume or prop weapons.
  • Food traders will be close by just on the other side of the hedge near our OC camping area. Equally close to our town centre but with the more OC elements out of sight from the immersive field.
  • Our Larp Traders, Food Traders and Pub “Haven’s Hearth” will be open from Thursday at 3pm. Both Larp and Food traders may close up when trade slows but they should often be open as late as 11pm and often later in the case of our Giant Tipi Pub which will be open as late as 2am during game time. Larp traders often leave the field by 3pm Sunday but our food traders will be open a little longer if you want to grab a bite to eat or good coffee after time out!

Traffic Regulation

  • Driving anywhere onsite is restricted to 5mph at all times.
  • Vehicle access to the IC field is weather permitting. If wet conditions soften the ground too much; vehicles will churn the ground making it a terrible gametime experience. We will attempt to offer wheel-barrow services and other transport solutions in the event of this.
  • Vehicles weight and power do damage to the ground and that can affect your ability to get around the event on foot. It also affects how long the ground takes to recover for next time. Please consider whether you need to bring a vehicle onto the IC field and please leave the field with your vehicle at your earliest convenience to keep congestion to a minimum and safety to the max.
  • You will be asked at the entrance (in your vehicle) if you are camping IC (in character) and whether you need to offload heavy items to the IC field with your vehicle.
    • Please unload in a timely manner and then safely drive your vehicle back to the main Car Park (Traffic Management in Hi-Vis will help direct you)
    • Please do not delay driving your vehicle back, as this causes bottlenecks and delays with other people setting up their tents.
  • While we endeavour to help anyone driving onsite, we would prefer to minimise the amount of traffic heading to the IC field – so please consider walking your goods from the carpark to the field if you are able to do so.
  • It is important that all cars are off the IC field by 5pm on Friday at the very latest. This ensures gametime safety and gameplay functionality can be in place for time in. You can still set up your camp but please unload vehicles and remove them from the field.
  • If you park your vehicle to offload, please do not consume any alcoholic beverages until your vehicle is parked in the main car park.
  • After Time Out on Sunday at 3pm, vehicle access to the IC field will open again. Please respect the Traffic Management directions, adhere to the 5mph limit at all times and ensure you are off the site entirely by 7pm at the latest.

Parking and Pitching

  • You may drive up to your camp pitch in either the IC or OC field. Once you have pitched your tent and unloaded your car you then need to move it to the car parking area. Please be mindful of where you park your vehicle whilst unloading on the IC field. Do not block access to pathways in camp areas, or park where others may need to pitch.

Fire

  • Fires are only permitted in the IC field and may be subject to weather conditions and grassfire risks.
  • All fires should be in suitable fireproof metal containers such as a firepit or cooking stove and at least 15cm from the ground. Please practise good fire safety and having fire prevention methods in mind at all times. There should be no scorching or marking of the ground. Volunteers will be on fire patrols keeping an eye on fire safety. They may ask you to adjust your fire if it breaches fire safety rules. This is not a judgment on your fire making skills – please politely comply.

Glass

  • Glass is now permitted at our events but please clean up all breakages immediately. Please let a volunteer know if you discover broken glass that you cannot dispose of yourself. Please report to our medical team if you cut yourself.

Trees

  • When camping near trees please be mindful of deadfall risk. We recommend camping away from trees to avoid the very real danger of being crushed by falling limbs.

Waste

  • Please take what waste you can home with you. We will provide bins and a skip for your waste but – in the nicest way – we aren’t running a landfill. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!
  • Waste you cannot take home can be placed in black bin bags and then into our skip. The skip is placed so you can put your rubbish in it as you leave the site via the one way system. Please do not pile up bin bags near bins or around your camp. Please place your waste in the skip provided.
  • Smaller Bins for bar waste and a small skip for Hot Ash will be available. PLEASE USE THE CORRECT BIN. Do not put regular waste in an ash bin as its a huge fire risk. If you are unsure – ask a volunteer.
  • Regular Bins have bin bags in them.
  • Sanitary Waste may be disposed of in our portaloos. The waste is processed off site and not put into mains water supplies. We will also endeavour to provide sanitary bins but toilet flushing of sanitary products is actually more sanitary for our team! Our permanent standing toilet block will use regular sanitary bins – please do not flush sanitary waste in the permanent block.

OC Camping

  • The OC (Out of Character) area will have space for regular OC tents and a live-in vehicle area. There will be toilets near this area. Accessible tent camping and accessible live-in vehicle camping will also be in this area and all will have good access to food, toilets and the game area. Vehicle access to this area is excellent.

Sleeping in Cars/Vans

  • We cannot allow anyone to sleep in their cars or vans in the general car park. If you are found to be sleeping in the general car park you will be asked to move. This is due to fire risk.
  • You may sleep in your van / car but only if you park in the Live-In section. This will allow us to monitor your safety and evacuate you if needed.

Accessibility

  • We have an accessibility camping area for those with accessibility needs. This has close access to toilets, food, pathways, roadways and medical support.
  • If you select “Yes” to accessibility requirements with your ticket, please email accessibility@menhirsfate.com if you have specific needs and we will do our best to accommodate them.
  • There is a designated accessibility parking area in our main car park with the closest access we can offer. You may offload your items with your vehicle near the camping area, but please return the vehicle to the accessibility parking area at your earliest convenience.
  • Accessibility live-in vehicles will be located next to accessibility camping.
  • We have a charging area for accessibility devices such as wheel chairs, scooters and batteries needed for other accessibility devices. This will be close by at our Monster tent but please ask a volunteer if you need help. We cannot provide direct power hookups to tents or live in vehicles. Please bring a battery if you require overnight power. We can recharge this for you. Please be aware that we offer to charge these devices at your own risk. Mobile generator power whilst generally reliable can very occasionally become unbalanced and can cause faults in electrical equipment.

Animals

  • No animals may be brought to the site unless they are officially recognised assistance animals.

Amplified Music

  • Please refrain from playing amplified music. Live music from instruments and voices is encouraged!

Monster and the Dungeon

  • We require players to turn up to the monster tent for their monstering slot. This will be just past the guilds in the OC area near our food traders.

Filming Policy

  • Our dedicated film crew aims to capture the magic of LARP, and they endeavour to do so discreetly without breaking your immersion.
  • Please familiarise yourself with our takedown policy if you do not wish to appear – feel free to also talk to our team in person.
  • It is important to note that our crew will go to extra lengths to communicate with players to check if they are comfortable being the focus of filmed footage but you may appear at a distance in background footage.
  • Any time large groups are filmed, the film crew endeavour to ensure that people are not easily identifiable (either because of extreme distance or blurred with focal depth)
  • You may request at any time to have your image removed, it is valuable to let us know ahead of time by contacting contact@menhirsfate.com and including a description / imagery if possible.
  • We will never focus on filming children and/or minors.
  • Footage is used primarily for Menhirs Fate marketing and informative purposes and may be published on our website, Youtube and our social media (Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, etc)
  • Occasionally we may have content creators or other film makers on site. They are required to comply with our photography code of conduct. We reserve the right to withdraw our consent from any photography or creator to publish photos or videos of our gamespace.
