The Da Hammerplatz Grand Armature of Exploration & Excavation
A Forward Bastion of Discovery, Defence, and Invention at the Edge of the Ruins
“Into the depths we delve, for knowledge, for coin, and for Hammerstadt’s survival.”
Proposed for construction at the perimeter of the Zweiburg ruins by Chartermeister Leonardo da Hammerplatz, the Grand Station is envisioned as Hammerstadt’s foothold into both the shattered cityscape and the treacherous underground below. Leonardo declares it is nothing less than “a fortress of invention, a shield of steel and wit, to guard the living as they pry wisdom from the dead.”
Designed as both a defensive bastion and a staging ground, the Station will secure a perimeter against wandering monsters, establish a reliable launch point for expeditions, and serve as a hub for outfitting adventurers and coteries venturing into the depths.
The layout, drafted in Leonardo’s famously eccentric hand, includes fortified walls with watchtowers and bastions, workshops and forges for repairing and crafting equipment, a depot of excavation tools and spelunking gear, and a sheltered barracks for staging parties. A central mapping and survey hall will catalogue findings, while controlled excavation pits and reinforced shafts allow deeper entry into the ruins. Wards and alchemical measures, designed with Leonardo’s peculiar blend of invention and arcane improvisation, will shield against toxic residue and volatile devices within the ruins.
To Leonardo, the Station is not merely a worksite but a living archive and proving ground. Its maps, artifacts, and findings will shape Hammerstadt’s understanding of Zweiburg’s legacy, while its workshops will outfit those daring enough to return. “Here, the past will arm the present, and the present will forge the future,” he proclaims.
