Students and masters from distant territories pass through its towering doors daily, robes brushing against animated walls, spellbooks hovering obediently in tow. Most striking of all are the four massive stained-glass windows set into the vaulted central chamber. Composed of four interlocking colors, they catch the sunlight at just the right angle each afternoon. The resulting spectrum pools on the floor, forming a brilliant image — one that changes with the seasons, with the sky, with the very light of the world — a living symbol of unity through difference, and of the magic that can emerge when people set borders aside.
