Mammoth Ranch
The Mammoth Ranch is a proposed agricultural and animal husbandry project in the White Scar Mountains, designed to bolster Valdraeth’s food supply and economic resilience. The plan envisions a secure grazing area for an initial herd of twenty mammoths, nineteen cows and one bull, free to roam and feed naturally across the mountain pastures. Wooden corrals will be constructed to allow annual health checks and safe containment when necessary, with the infrastructure designed to accommodate up to forty animals to allow for future expansion as the herd grows.
Waymales (with the support of Urdrevan) will assist in scouting the most suitable grazing grounds, ensuring the herd thrives on natural vegetation while remaining within protected zones. The ranch will prioritise sustainability and integration with the surrounding landscape, using durable wooden fencing to prevent predator intrusion while blending into the rugged terrain. The overarching goal is to create a stable source of food for Valdraeth’s population, with the foresight to support future needs, including feeding larger beasts such as dragons, if required. Structures for caretakers and staff will be constructed in harmony with the environment, offering shelter and oversight without disturbing the natural flow of the mountains.
