“To forget is to invite them back. Let the names bloom, so the blood does not.”
This proposal seeks the consecration of a sacred glade at The Lament, where eight citizens of Valdraeth fell to the horrors of the Red Caps. In quiet reverence and firm resolve, The Red Graves shall serve not only as a resting place, but as a ward—woven from memory, shadow, and story.
The design proposes a wooded grove planted with native trees and flowerings, shaped gently into a natural sanctuary. Within this glade, eight gravestones shall rise—each carved from deep redwood and set respectfully into the earth. Each marker will bear a scroll case, sealed and protected, containing the results of fable weaving performed for each of the fallen. Their stories—personal, tragic, and true—will remain here for generations, inscribed not merely as memorials, but as warnings.
The grove will be humble, made from local materials and maintained with care. It is not a place for grand processions, but for solemn visits—for whispered names, for reflection beneath leaf and shadow, and for the quiet power of remembrance. The shrine will be formally dedicated to The Reaper, that the dead may be honoured, and that what once came hunting will know the price of return.
