General Reminders for MF4

As we are in the runup to the last event of the year, we wanted to put out some general reminders about LARP, especially as we have a bunch of people new to the game once more – thank you all for supporting Menhirs Fate!

At the new site we are also expecting some changes you will need to prepare for, and due to the turning of seasons we also expect colder weather (although the trees do provide some wind shelter).

We also have our Event Schedule updated, including important timings and travel information:

Lights

While we are going to make every effort to light up combat and guild areas, there will be much less lighting across the main camp areas – where possible, we encourage players to bring their own lights for the nation and OC camping areas, and portable lighting for the stealth combat areas. Remember that crew will ignore red lights used for safety purposes.

Wood

Due to the changing site we have less firewood capacity than previous events. We will have three “dumpy” bags of wood delivered to the site, but we encourage those who can bring their own firewood to do so rather than relying on purchasing on site.

Cold Weather Clothes

This will be our first September event. As we are sure many of you have noticed the weather is starting to turn, so please remember that multiple layers and thermals are very important. Having a change of clothes in case of rain will also be important as being wet will lead to being cold and can cause serious issues.

Shelter

Similar to the cold weather clothes advice please be aware of your shelter and keeping things dry. The weather forecast may be changeable and preparing for difficult weather is a good plan at this point in the year.

Supporter Tickets

Supporter tickets are still available for MF4. These get you a few desktop and mobile wallpapers of Menhirs Fate artwork, along with entering you into the second “Menhirs Fete” raffle at MF4 – find out who has won by visiting Havens Rest (the Bar) on Sunday!

Covid / Illness

We have been made aware that several cases of COVID were on the field at the last event. As we’ve not specifically addressed this before, we wanted to make it clear to people to not attend if you have any Covid or flu symptoms. We have immunocompromised people as participants and while we appreciate anyone that supports Menhirs Fate we do not want our events to cause distress, illness or more serious issues for anyone attending.

If you find yourself ill in the runup to an event, please email us at accounts@menhirsfate.com for a refund. While we all cherish this hobby and the memories we make it is not worth the harm it could cause to other people.

Conduct

We also need to address some issues of general conduct at the event.

While our crew are here to help the game function and this can take the form of interacting with players, remember to be mindful of your bank and guild crews’ break needs.

Crew R&R time is extremely important so that we are able to provide the best levels of role-play and service for you when we are switched on.

If you see a guild crew member relaxing elsewhere in Haven, they may be utilising their R&R time. If you would like to speak to them about guild business please ask them if it is okay to do so first. Additionally you must never ask them about guild business when they are queueing for, entering, leaving, or using a toilet.

We would like to reiterate that we love this game, we think our players are incredible and we love interacting with you. Unfortunately there have been multiple unacceptable incidents resulting in the need for this message.
