Player Events
What is a Player Event?
Player Events are gatherings, activities, or small-scale adventures organised by players and crew members outside of the mainline events. These events still take place within the world of Menhirs Fate but are independently run and managed by the community.
Do we allow Player Events?
Yes! We fully support and encourage player-run events. However, all Player Events must adhere to our Player Event Guidelines to maintain consistency, fairness, and immersion within the game world of Menhirs Fate.
Player event guidelines:
Event Type and Support
At this time, we are not facilitating sanctioned or plot-based events. This means:
- We cannot provide official resources, props, or planning assistance.
- Events should be social or character-driven, focusing on roleplay and community building rather than advancing plot or introducing peril and threat.
Event Content
- Social events should not include plot, peril, or threats.
- All participants should play their existing Menhirs Fate characters.
- Player events may not use NPCs that are well known in the world and named on the wiki such as the figureheads of each nation.
- Event organisers may include crew or NPCs if desired, but these NPCs should follow the same rules as Player Characters and begin with 10 starting experience points (EXP).
Rules and Conduct
- All standard game rules and conduct guidelines apply at Player Events.
- If a character death occurs, the event organiser must report it via email. Include the following:
- Player’s real name (Out of Character)
- Character name (In Character)
- PID number
Timeline and Continuity
- Events must align chronologically with downtime releases.
- We recommend avoiding the use of specific in-game dates to prevent timeline conflicts.
- All events are considered canon, unless later affected by rule changes or updates.
Resources and Game Mechanics
- Character resources (e.g. in-game items, materials, or currency) will remain securely stored in the central game bank and cannot be accessed or distributed for Player Events.
- Please plan your event accordingly with this limitation in mind.
Updates and Revisions
- During the downtime season, we will be reviewing and updating various mechanics and systems.
- While you are free to use any existing rules for your event, please note that changes may occur before, during, or after your event. We appreciate your patience and flexibility as these updates are implemented.
