Moonvigil Gate
Perched at the entrance to the Moonvigil cliffs, the Moonvigil Gate is a fortification designed to safeguard the inland regions from incursions by the bay’s dangerous wildlife, including the eel-like creatures that plague the coastal waters. The fortification begins as a simple wooden structure with a stone base, forming a gateway across a long, winding road carved into the cliffside. From the summit, the gate overlooks the ravine that cuts into the cliffs, providing strategic control over all who enter or leave the bay.
Construction will be overseen by skilled builders from Irondelve Hold, and guards will protect the site from enemy creatures during the building process. The gate’s initial design allows for future expansions, including reinforced timber walls, lookout towers, and additional defensive features as the region stabilizes. Moonvigil Gate is intended not only as a protective measure but also as a staging point for reconstruction efforts inland, offering security for those seeking to reclaim the coastal settlements.
