A Passage For All, Where Footsteps Follow Purpose And Tide.
“All roads lead to change — the wise simply build them first.”
To strengthen the ties between land and sea, Marcus Corvolis proposes the construction of Hounds Passage — a monumental bridge and waterway designed to link the industrial heart of Hammerstadt with the maritime edge of Portavas. The bridge will not only ease travel and diplomatic exchange but also serve as a crucial artery for trade, especially benefiting nations with otherwise limited access to the isles, such as the Urdrevani.
Inspired by the renowned Rispetto Way, Hounds Passage will feature a stone and timber construction, reinforced for both foot and caravan traffic. Alongside this elevated causeway, a carved channel will allow for the smooth passage of trade ships and small vessels — ensuring both overland and seaborne commerce can flow.
Staggered throughout the bridge will be elegant artistic tributes to The Traveller: weatherworn carvings, wind-blown banners, and quiet shrines where pilgrims and merchants alike may pause, reflect, and give thanks for safe passage. The structure itself is to be adorned with iconography that celebrates movement, connection, and perseverance — values central to the gods and the growing unity between nations.
Hounds Passage stands as a bold project that looks beyond borders and toward opportunity. It is a road not just of stone, but of intent — laid for those willing to walk it.
